SRU alumnae elected to ATRA board

Two Slippery Rock University graduates were named to the board of directors of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association, the only national association for recreational therapists. 

Audra Gibson, ’00, and Sara Miller, ’10, both graduates with degrees in therapeutic recreation services, were elected as at-large members and will serve on the board for three years. Gibson is the director of recreation and social integration at Community Residences Inc., and Miller works as a certified therapeutic recreation specialist.

Betsy Kemeny, an SRU associate professor of parks, conservation and recreational therapy, is the president of ATRA.
