SRU students earn BEA award for audio PSA

Three Slippery Rock University students were recognized with the Award of Excellence from the Broadcast Education Association for an audio public service announcement that they produced.

Cedric Askerneese, a senior communication major from Aliquippa; Zachary Bender, a senior communication major from Altoona; and Elise Forry, a senior communication major from Elizabethtown, received the BEA Award of Excellence in the “PSA, Promo or Commercial” category for their submission titled “Save Someone You Love.”

The award, as part of the annual 
BEA Festival of Media Arts, was among more than 350 winning submissions from college students for audio, documentary, film and video, interactive media and emerging technologies, news, scriptwriting and sports.

The BEA is an academic media organization with more than 2,500 individual and institutional members worldwide.
