Scanlon speaks at Re-Imagine Butler County symposium

Paul Scanlon, Slippery Rock University director of sustainability, was one of six guest speakers at the Re-Imagine Butler County symposium, Sept. 29 at Butler County Community College.

The community event focused on the future of Butler County, addressing topics including: agriculture, economic development, green industry, jobs, recreation/ecotourism, renewable energy and sustainable building. Scanlon discussed how global warming and climate change might impact the county.

Re-Imagine Butler County is a group of citizens concerned about the future of Butler County, whose purpose is to provide public forums to stimulate community action to achieve a sustainable future for Butler County and future generations.
