Cyberspace Club
The club's goals are to facilitate resources to students to advance their technical and professional skills in area of cybersecurity. The club organizes collaborative research and interdisciplinary academic meetings and events each month with emphasize on discussions, talks and hands-on training focused on addressing cybersecurity concerns spanning diverse concepts, related to: network administration, cryptography, software assurance, secure coding, security tools, security analysis, project management, incident response, scripting, post-mortem deep forensics, ethical reasoning, malware analysis, data analytics, advanced system architectures, parallel and distributed computing and more. Moreover, the club also organizes various competitions to aid students apply cybersecurity concepts, both offensive and defensive among other universities across the nation. Activities include:
- Security workshops
- Monthly group discussion of current cybersecurity events (ie. hacks, security threats)
- Cyberspace event
- Internship opportunity discussions
- Join on CORE.
Cyberspace Events
Slippery Rock University's Center for Cybersecurity and Advanced Computing will host Cyberspace Event every semester to addresses topics related to cybersecurity. The event features talk from cybersecurity experts and students presentations encompassing case scenarios, live software demonstrations and applications to address cybersecurity threats and challenges.
Seminar Series
The goal of the seminars is to provide students an opportunity to learn about exciting cybersecurity, computational and data science research, internship and employment opportunities.
