More than 7% of SRU's students are over the age of 25, and with more than 25 online program options at the undergraduate, graduate or doctoral level, SRU makes learning flexible and convenient without having to dramatically alter everyday life, according to the website.

"Among our nontraditional students are adults who may have some previous college experience, but did not finish for one reason or another and wish to come back and finish their degree on a part-time basis," said Amanda Yale, SRU's chief enrollment management officer. "A lot of the time, these adults are working professionals who are seeking a promotion or open avenues to explore other career possibilities, but it can be tricky while juggling prior obligations such as a full-time job and family."

SRU currently offers seven online undergraduate degrees in areas including accounting, management, and philanthropy and nonprofit management; 17 online master's programs, including data analytics, criminal justice, and special education; and two online doctoral programs, in special education and educational leadership.

"In addition to having a balance between work and school, another advantage with these online programs is convenience," Yale said. "Students receive the same quality education and interactions with professors, but when it is convenient for them to do so. These types of degrees also make graduates greater potential on the job market.

In addition to an educational experience similar to their on-campus counterparts, online degree-seeking students also have access to campus resources including academic advising, registration, academic and student support services, technical guidance, and career education.

"In helping our adult degree-seekers, we really utilize these resources to make sure they receive the help they need while also ensuring they finish their degrees in a timely manner," said Yale.
