Wellness Peer Educators

Mission and Vision

The Wellness Peer Educators at Slippery Rock University are trained students within the Dean of Students office dedicated to improving the well-being of their campus community. By using a wellness model that incorporates physical, mental, social, emotional, and intellectual health, the Wellness Peer Educators design inclusive evidence-based programs to help students make informed decisions about their personal values and health.

We aspire to be leaders on campus, role models for healthy behaviors, and peers recognized for our commitment to inclusive education. We aim to empower students to achieve their full potential by developing lifelong healthy habits through a lens of holistic well-being.

Certified Peer Educator Training

All Wellness Peer Educators receive Certified Peer Educator (CPE) training through the national organization NASPA Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. Prior to starting the job all peers are trained by a CPE certified facilitator in public health, peer education, and bystander intervention concepts to adequately prepare them for the job.
