Supporting Students with Accommodations (for FACULTY)
More and more students are requesting and gaining approval for accommodations to support them in their academics in college. SRU faculty are seeing evidence of this through an uptick of students requesting that their accommodations are applied to their courses. In this workshop, faculty will gain insight into supporting students in their courses who have accommodations. Items discussed will include the accommodation process, common accommodations explained, disability law, confidentiality, support with the Accommodate software system used by the Office of Disability Services (ODS), testing accommodations, resources for faculty, and the roles of both students and faculty members with accommodations. (Typically offered as part of the professional development semester series.)

SRU has a specific support person assigned to assist in discussing options for providing access in ways which are convenient to the current approach.
Animals in SRU Buildings
Animals may be spotted in SRU buildings. This presentation discusses the different types of animals which may be present on campus and the access rights associated with them. The presentation discusses the difference between service dogs, emotional support animals, and therapy animals as well as the guidelines surrounding their use.
