SRU earns ‘great value’ ranking for philosophy degrees

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Slippery Rock University has been ranked as one of the country's top 100 "great value" colleges for earning a bachelor's degree in philosophy by Great Value Colleges.

SRU, ranked No. 73, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, were the only two schools from Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education to make the list.

Great Value Colleges curates college ranking lists in order to help students navigate higher education to find the best programs in terms of value, potential financial aid, personal savings, family contribution, cost of living and the quality of the institution.

GVC compiled its rankings by giving consideration to cost of tuition, graduate degree opportunities in the field, 20-year net ROI, accreditation and consideration of unique features that made a program stand out.

SRU offers a bachelor's degree in philosophy with both general and career-related concentrations. Minors in philosophy and ethics are also available.
