A research team from Slippery Rock University received an award for their research poster from the Interprofessional Education Collaborative, an organization that represents 21 national health professions associations.

The team representing SRU’s Biology and Music departments won in the category “Special Topics and Research” for the Excellence in Interprofessional Education Collaboration Award. The team consisted of Amber Eade, assistant professor of biology; Jenna Duncan, a 2021 SRU graduate with a degree in biology; Nichole Hahna, associate professor of music; and Vern Miller, assistant professor of music.

The title of the team’s research poster was “Evaluation of EEG Responses to Sedative and Stimulative Music Using the Muse 2,” which studied people’s responses to types of music while using a headset that measures electrical activity in different parts of the brain.
