Muthusamy receives Literati Award for Outstanding Paper

Senthil Kumar Muthusamy, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of management and marketing, received the 2020 Literati Award for Outstanding Paper from the Journal of Organizational Change Management.

The Literati Awards celebrate and reward the outstanding contributions of authors and reviewers to scholarly research for journals produced by Emerald Publishing.

Muthusamy was recognized for his paper titled “Power of positive words: communication, cognition, and organizational transformation,” which analyzed the role of positive communication involving stories, metaphors or axioms in fostering socio-cognitive routines necessary for organizational change. 

The JOCM, which has a 20% acceptance rate, publishes papers that offer a detailed analysis and discussion on the philosophies and practices which underpin successful organizational change, thus building a more promising future for the societies and organizations of tomorrow.
