Scott advises CPA managers on retaining African American accountants

Edward Scott, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of accounting, economics and finance, wrote an article that was published in the January 2021 issue of The CPA Journal, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants’ monthly membership publication. Scott’s article, titled “Advice for Retaining African American Accountants,” outlines ‘Perspective-Taking’ as an interpersonal relationship management tool for supervisors to build trust between diverse employees and improve retention rates for African American accountants.
