Catie Brown, a 2009 Slippery Rock University graduate with a degree in music education, is participating in the Pittsburgh Public Theater's presentation of "Little Shop of Horrors," Jan. 23 to Feb. 23, at the O'Reilly Theater in Pittsburgh.

Brown, the associate music director for the show's design team, is conducting the orchestra and playing keyboard for the production while working with Grammy Award-winning music director John McDaniel.

Based on the 1960 science-fiction movie, "Little Shop of Horrors" is a musical comedy about a flower shop owner who has a plant that talks, sings and lives off human blood. The show includes R&B, rock and girl-group music from the early 1960s.
