Petray’s op-ed published in the Times Higher Education

Marnie Jo Petray, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of modern languages and cultures, was published in the Times Higher Education, a magazine dedicated to news and issues pertaining to higher education.

Petray coauthored an op-ed with Gail Clements, instructor of linguistics at Duke University, and Avi Staiman, CEO of Academic Language Experts. Titled, “We must end linguistic discrimination in academic publishing,” the piece calls for publishers of academic journals to re-examine biases and support mechanisms.
