SRU professors present at two mathematics teacher conferences

Sararose Lynch, a Slippery Rock University assistant professor of special education, and Jeremy Lynch, an SRU associate professor of special education, recently presented their academic work at conferences in Nevada and Louisiana.

Sararose Lynch presented at the 2022 Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators Conference, Feb. 10-12 in Henderson, Nevada, as part of a collaborative presentation titled, “Teacher candidates’ reflections on mediated field experiences’ impact on their knowledge and dispositions for teaching.” She also received a National Science Foundation award to fund travel and participation in the NSF’s Developing and Evaluating Assessments of Problem-Solving meeting, Feb. 12-13, also in Henderson.

Earlier this month, Sararose Lynch and Jeremy Lynch presented at the 2022 National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Regional Conference, Feb. 2 in New Orleans. Their presentation titled, “Responsive Mathematics Classrooms: Building Community to Promote Engagement for All Students,” discussed creating a community of learners through responsive classroom-based mathematical practices.
