Three Slippery Rock University aquatics minors each received scholarships from the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and the National Drowning Prevention Alliance.

Samantha Dudley, a junior park and resource management major from Limerick, Maine, was awarded a NASBLA scholarship for $1,000. A.J. Sumser, a senior recreational therapy major from Avon, Ohio, and Mary Zipfel, a junior health and physical education major from Sutersville were each awarded the 2022 National Water Safety Conference Scholarship presented by the National Drowning Prevention Alliance. Sumser also received the NDPA’s Michael Phelps Foundation Student Scholarship. Both scholarships fund students’ attendance at the NWSC, an annual conference of the NDPA, a nonprofit organization that provides the public with drowning prevention and water safety education and programs.
