Shahriar Gias, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of management and marketing, had a paper accepted for presentation at the 2020 American Marketing Association Summer Academic Conference, Aug. 21-23, in San Francisco.

Gias' paper explores the development of salespersons based on their agility, which differs from other concepts that assess the ability to adapt, such as diligence and flexibility. His paper also argues that the salesperson agility construct should consider salesperson knowledge and the ability to enact change quickly.

The AMA is the leading professional association for marketing professionals with more than 30,000 members and 70 chapters nationwide. The AMA's Academic Conference is a platform to bring together academics and practitioners to set the agenda for the future, and the competitive papers presentations address substantive or theoretical topics that are selected after a rigorous blind review process.
