Xinchao Wei, a Slippery Rock University professor of physics and engineering program director, recently co-wrote two research papers that were published in Water Environment Research, an international multidisciplinary journal related to the areas of water quality, resource recovery and water resource management.

Wei’s first paper, titled “Mine drainage: Remediation technology and resource recovery,” reported the advances in the treatment of, and the technologies focusing on resource recovery from, mine drainage.

Wei’s second paper, co-authored with Mohammad Kazemi, SRU assistant professor of physics, is titled “Petrochemical wastewater and produced water: Treatment technology and resource recovery.” Their paper is about the contaminated wastewater from oil and gas operations and the sustainable, technological solutions that can be used in the water treatment process.
