Jason Kush, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of music, recently performed at two noteworthy concerts in Pittsburgh and Mexico City.

Kush played the saxophone in an orchestra that backed Hugh Jackman in an Oct. 9 concert at Pittsburgh's PPG Paints Arena. The concert was part of Jackman's "The Man. The Music. The Show." world tour. Kush was also a featured soloist at the Pittsburgh show. Jackman, a Golden Globe- and Tony Award-winning actor/singer, performs songs from various Broadway shows and films at his concerts.

Kush also performed at an international saxophone festival, Encuentro Universitario Internacional De Saxofón México XVIII, Oct. 16-17, in Mexico City. He performed a solo recital and was a soloist with a professional jazz band. He also judged classical and jazz saxophone competitions, and taught a master class.
