Kunj Champaneri, a Slippery Rock University sophomore computing major from Sewickley, was selected into the Student Volunteer program for SC19, the International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis.

Champaneri was one of more than 150 undergraduate and graduate students selected for the program, which allows students to attend the SC19 conference, Nov. 17-22, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

Student Volunteers work up to 20 hours helping with the administration of the conference, explore exhibits, attend technical presentations and participate in the Students@SC program that helps transition new members of the high-performance computing community with professional development opportunities. More than 11,000 people attend the SC Conference Series each year from the computing community, including researchers, scientists, application developers and computing center staff and management.

Champaneri was selected by the Student Volunteers committee based on his research background with Nitin Sukhija, assistant professor of computer science, who provided a recommendation.
