Slippery Rock University resumes normal operations on Wednesday, January 28.
The University will follow its regular operating schedule with students, faculty and staff enjoying in-person academic instruction and office work.
Please exercise extreme caution while commuting and traversing campus. Surfaces on campus may continue to have a thin coating of snow in certain areas to assist with traction.
The frigid temperatures make the ice melt treatment less effective, so sturdy footwear, such as boots with ankle protection, is recommended when walking outdoors.
Additionally, vehicles should maintain low speed (especially when making turns) and drivers should plan on increased stopping distances and providing the right-of-way to pedestrians.
On-campus residents should speak with the Front Welcome Desk regarding a shovel loaner program to help with shoveling out personal vehicles. Students are encouraged to start and run their vehicles once it is cleared of snow as batteries can drain in cold weather. If your car has a dead battery, call University Police at 724-738-3333 to inquire about the availability of a jump starter battery pack.
Resident hall trash pickup will resume this week. Resident parking lots and other detailed snow removal efforts will be a focus of the facilities team this weekend.
Dress codes are relaxed at this time to help ensure everyone's well-being and comfort.
