Transfer Orientation

Invitations to the January 19 program will be mailed/emailed beginning in late November to all new transfer students who will begin their education at SRU for the Spring 2018 semester.

Students living in an on-campus residence hall can move in on Thursday, January 18, one day prior to the program, between 9:00am and 4:00pm. Housing questions should be directed to the Office of Residence Life at 724-738-2082.

Transfer students should meet with their academic advisor and schedule for classes before attending this one-day program. New first-year students will receive their class schedule by email/mail.

Orientation For Your Family

Families play a crucial role in the adjustment and success of college students. We encourage you to invite your parents/spouse to attend this program with you. This program has been designed to help families become familiar with Slippery Rock University and the many opportunities and services available for students. Each student will receive two complimentary lunch tickets for their program guests.  Additional guests may pay at the door.

All offices will be open from 8:00am to 4:30pm for you to complete any unfinished University business.

Transfer 101 on Desire2Learn (D2L)

If you cannot attend Orientation, watch your SRU email for information regarding our online resource, Transfer 101, in Desire2Learn (D2L). Here, you will find details on how to navigate SRU's website, obtain a parking pass and student ID, in addition to important information for commuter students. However, if you can attend Orientation, please do not consider the online resource an alternative. The online tool does not cover material from the comprehensive Orientation experience.

Please note that you will need to use your SRU username and password to access Desire2Learn. Once you have logged in, you will find the Transfer 101 resource under your list of classes on the right hand side of the screen.
