Associate Director for International Student Admissions
Genevieve is responsible for undergraduate international student recruitment and admission. She received her Bachelors of Science with Honors from the University of Tasmania, Australia and Master of Art in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Slippery Rock University.
Enjoys hiking, camping and other outdoor activities, spending time with her husband and family, cooking, scrap-booking, watching movies and reading on her Kindle, and playing with her two cats Leo & Lulu.
Noora A. Alie
Assistant Director for International Student Services/International Student Adviser
Noora is responsible for international student advising.
She graduated with a Bachelors of Art in Communication from Hiram College and a Master of Science in Global Leadership from Duquesne University.
She is an Arab-American and speaks Arabic. She loves traveling to new places, binge watching TV series on Netflix and spending quality cuddle time with her kitty, Hamoud!
Director for Global Exchanges and Partnerships
Jenny is responsible for developing and maintaining global exchanges and partnerships. She received her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Slippery Rock University and her Masters of Art in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Her first experience abroad was studying Japanese at Kansai Gaidai University, one of Slippery Rock's partner institutions. From there, her global journey began. She became involved in the field of international education and has traveled to over 23 different countries for both work and fun. Loves learning new languages, exploring new cultures and trying new foods.
Tess (Crispin) Thrower
Assistant Director for Global Exchanges and Partnerships/Study Abroad Student Adviser
Tess graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Elementary/Special Education along with her Master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from SRU. She sparked her love for traveling during her study abroad experiences in Limerick, Ireland and Madrid, Spain and can't wait for her next overseas adventure!
Loves to run (cross country and track) and is training for upcoming half-marathons and marathons. She also enjoys playing other sports, camping, water skiing, and traveling!
Brenda is responsible for the fiscal affairs in the office, processing invoices, billing statements, and health insurance. She also assists with the daily office functions to keep things running smoothly. She has been with SRU for 30+ years.
Lives on a dairy farm and is proud to admit that she can drive tractors and operate farm equipment.
Sierra A. Bell
International Student Recruiter
Sierra is responsible for undergraduate and graduate international student recruitment and helps with the admissions process. She graduated from Westminster College with a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Spanish.
She studied abroad in San Jose, Costa Rica. She has since worked in Belgium, the Netherlands, Rwanda, Canada, China, Mongolia, and India. Her hobbies include horseback riding, traveling, and painting.
Lisa J. Patricelli
Clerk Typist II
Lisa greets and assists students and visitors as well as assisting several staff members with many daily office functions. Lisa is new to Global Engagement, but has been with SRU for 7+ years.
Two of her four children have graduated from SRU and one is currently attending. She has 3 grandchildren that she very much enjoys spending all of her free time with as well as watching them play sports. She loves being outdoors as well as camping and/or sitting by a campfire every chance she gets. Her favorite hobby is basketweaving. Her biggest fan is her little white fluffy dog, Patches.
Yonshalae N. Powell
Yonshalae is a graduate student studying Student Affairs in Higher Education. She received her bachelors degree in Communication from Slippery Rock University.
She enjoys playing softball and volleyball. She loves watching movies and crocheting blankets during her free time. And her favorite snack is potato chips and applesauce.
