Pamela J. Frigot
Pam works with new program development, incoming international faculty, outgoing domestic faculty (traveling and working abroad), international alumni, and overall management of international programs and office operations.
Is a proud SRU alum and has been here for 35+ years (including her days as a student). Her son Tim is a graduate student at SRU.
Enjoys traveling, gardening, and golf and loves spectator sports, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins, Steelers, and Pirates. She has always lived in places with interesting names: Greentree, Mars, Slippery Rock, and Bushey (in the UK).
Associate Director for International Student Admissions
Genevieve is responsible for undergraduate international student recruitment and admission. She received her Bachelors of Science with Honors from the University of Tasmania, Australia and Master of Art in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Slippery Rock University.
Enjoys hiking, camping and other outdoor activities, spending time with her husband and family, cooking, scrap-booking, watching movies and reading on her Kindle, and playing with her two cats Leo & Lulu.
Noora A. Alie
International Student Adviser
Noora is responsible for international student advising.
She graduated with a Bachelors of Art in Communication from Hiram College and a Master of Science in Global Leadership from Duquesne University.
She is an Arab-American and speaks Arabic. She loves traveling to new places, binge watching TV series on Netflix and spending quality cuddle time with her kitty, Hamoud!
Tess (Crispin) Thrower
Study Abroad Student Adviser
Tess graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Elementary/Special Education along with her Master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from SRU. She sparked her love for traveling during her study abroad experiences in Limerick, Ireland and Madrid, Spain and can't wait for her next overseas adventure!
Loves to run (cross country and track) and is training for upcoming half-marathons and marathons. She also enjoys playing other sports, camping, water skiing, and traveling!
Brenda is responsible for the fiscal affairs in the office, processing invoices, billing statements, and health insurance. She also assists with the daily office functions to keep things running smoothly. She has been with SRU for 30+ years.
Lives on a dairy farm and is proud to admit that she can drive tractors and operate farm equipment.
Maria assists in processing study abroad applications and applications from new international students, assists with the organization and implementation of Internations Week activities and programs, and keeps the office cheerful and organized.
Maria was born and raised in Mexico, her first language is Spanish. She enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with family.
Lauren K. Perri
International Admissions Adviser
Lauren assists the entire staff as well as both international and domestic students with a variety of programs and service.
She received her Undergraduate Degree in World Languages Education: K-12 German from Pennsylvania State University in 2011. She is beginning her Educational Career at Slippery Rock University as a Graduate Student in Student Affairs in Higher Education.
Recently married and a new homeowner, she loves traveling and has studied in Germany. Her hobbies include reading, kayaking, traveling, and hanging out with friends.
Student Affairs Intern
Jiangqiong helps with student advising as well as other student affairs related programs and services in the office. She is a graduate International student in the Student Affairs with College Counseling Program.
She was born in China and is a cat lover, interested in traveling, reading, and watching movies.
Shaheer Mahdi Jilanee
Shaheer manages all content within the Office for Global Engagement's sub-site. He is an International Transfer Student, currently a Junior Computing Major and has been at SRU for over two years now.
Was born in Bangladesh, raised in Nigeria and has visited many countries including Egypt, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, The United Arab Emirates and Turkey. Is fluent in Bangla and Hausa and conversational in French and Arabic. Enjoys programming, playing with Foam Dart Blasters, playing tabletop games, playing video games and reading comics.
Musu A. Kiawu
Musu assists with activities involving the Office of Global Engagement and also international students events. She is an international transfer student and currently a junior with double majors in Finance and Marketing.
She was born and raised in Sierra Leone, and also lived in Ghana. She loves traveling, experiencing nature and cultures, singing, reading and mostly adores her family and friends.
