Complete Two Public Health Degrees in 5 Years

The CEPH-Accredited Public Health programs at SRU prepare you for a rewarding career in the public health field

Public Health: Pre-Public Health 3+2

Offered by: Public Health Sciences

The 3+2 Accelerated Program seamlessly connects the Bachelor of Health Science in Public Health with the Master of Public Health (MPH), enabling students to complete both degrees in five years, one year less than the traditional pathway. This innovative approach aligns with national workforce trends and enhances our institution’s academic offerings by equipping students with the multidisciplinary expertise demanded by today’s public health sector. Graduates will earn an MPH from our CEPH-accredited SRU program, opening doors to expanded career opportunities.

As part of the CEPH-accredited MPH curriculum, students can choose one of two career-focused concentrations

  • Health Promotion and Wellness
  • Environmental and Occupational Health

Why Choose Public Health?

Public health careers now span diverse disciplines like epidemiology, health education, biostatistics, environmental health, and global health. Our combined Bachelor’s and Master of Public Health (MPH) program delivers comprehensive, multidisciplinary training that meets evolving employer demands. The accelerated 3+2 pathway reduces time and costs, allowing students to join the workforce sooner with robust credentials. After the first three years, the MPH is offered entirely online, providing the flexibility to study and work from anywhere, culminating in a combined BS and CEPH-accredited MPH degree in five years instead of six.

This seamless progression from undergraduate to graduate studies highlights our institution’s leadership in public health education. The program attracts motivated, career-focused students on a clear, goal-oriented academic journey, supported by dedicated faculty with extensive experience and specialized expertise.
