Student Activities

What's there to do at SRU? A whole lot! SRU offers you many fun and exciting opportunities for experiencing and enjoying college life.

With over 160 clubs and organizations for you to get involved in, frequent on- and off-campus outings and events, and tons of new and interesting things to check out, there's always something cool to do at SRU!

Here's a quick glimpse at some of the awesome things you can do at SRU every day:

Entertainment

The Union Program Board (UPB) sponsors regular entertainment events-including performing arts, concerts, films, lectures, and travel. In the past few years the UPB has brought in entertainers such as Dierks Bentley, Ludacris, Poverty Neck Hillbillies, T.I., and cast members from MTV's Real World.

Sports

From football and basketball to baseball and field hockey, come cheer SRU's NCAA teams to victory - free of charge. You can also participate in a variety of intramural sports, including soccer, flag football, softball, hockey, kickball, and ultimate Frisbee. More than 5,000 students participate in intramurals every year!

Arts

Feel like seeing some new or different? Arts and cultural activities abound at SRU in the form of music performances, theatrical events, art exhibits, and dance recitals. Plus they make for a great date night!

Social

Want to get out there and meet some new people? There are a variety of social (Greek) fraternities and sororities at SRU. There are also many academic honor societies related to our various degree programs.

Fitness

Looking to break a sweat? SRU's Aebersold Recreation Center (ARC) features a two-story rock climbing wall, weight facility, indoor track, swimming pool, and multiple courts. It's open late on weekends and weekdays. Campus Recreation also offers fun and challenging fitness classes and outdoor adventure programs.

Community

The Village at Slippery Rock has recently undergone a renaissance. You can stroll down for an off-campus lunch or dinner, hang out at one of the coffee shops, or (if you're of-age) enjoy the tavern or microbrewery.
