SRU’s presents Legacy Motown Review Feb. 2

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University Performing Art Series patrons will be treated to the legendary Motown sounds of the 50s, 60s and beyond when The Legacy Motown Revue rolls into The Rock for a Feb. 2 performance.

The Legacy Motown Revue is a quartet of talented entertainers, backed by the Sound Express Band, that dance, sing and transport their audience back to the heyday of Motown through the music of The Drifters, The Coasters, The Jacksons, Earth, Wind & Fire and The Temptations. The group combines exciting choreography and impressive showmanship that showcases not only the classic "Motown Sound" but contemporary soul music as well.

Launched in 2010, LMR is backed by the singers and musicians and singers that comprise Sound Express, a high energy, Top 40 variety show band that includes vocalists, saxophone, trumpet, keyboards, guitar and drums. Featuring high energy choreography, colorful costumes and charismatic personalities, Sound Express pays tribute to, and playfully remembers, some of the all-time favorite musical artists in history.

General admission tickets for the 7:30 p.m., Feb. 2 performance in the University Union's Multipurpose Room are $22 for adults; $20 for seniors (62 and older); $18 for youth (17 and younger); and $8 for SRU students.
