SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — As part of Slippery Rock University's ongoing efforts to expand its campus community's capacity for diversity, equity and inclusion, the University is instituting DEI training for all employees and student workers.

SRU and Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education have partnered with EVERFI to provide online education courses as part of a new comprehensive DEI training program.

"Our intention is to actively engage the campus community to enhance their understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion issues, including anti-racism and allyship," said Lynne Motyl, chief human resources officer. "We're committed to training, especially as it pertains to our ongoing efforts to increase understanding of what it means to have a diverse, equitable and respectful work environment and be better equipped to address barriers that prevent full participation."

SRU employees will be emailed links to training beginning March 15 that must be completed by May 28. The three required courses are Managing Bias, Diversity and Inclusion and Accommodating Disabilities.
