SRU to host nonprofit ‘boot camp’ June 7

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Slippery Rock University and the Alliance for Nonprofit Resources will host a Nonprofit Leadership Boot Camp from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 7 in the Advanced Technology and Science Hall.

The ANR, located in Butler, works to provide a full range of high quality and affordable administrative services to nonprofit agencies of all sizes.

The Nonprofit Leadership Boot Camp is a workshop-based event for all levels of leadership, including volunteers, board members, employees and other nonprofit professionals.

The event will feature eight tracks and more than 25 workshops on a variety of topics including:

• Management and decision-making.
• Infrastructure.
• Human resources.
• Governance.
• Grants and funding.
• Marketing.
• Nonprofit start-up.
• Self-care.

Keynote speakers will include SRU President William Behre, who will speak on making difficult decisions in organizations, and Eric Walker, a Marine Corps. veteran who works with the Butler VA Health Care System.

Registration for the event is $50 per person, with a $5 discount for multiple attendees from the same agency, and $30 per student, with a $5 discount for SRU students.

Proceeds from the event will support SRU's Student Nonprofit Alliance Scholarship and Professional Development Fund.

There are also additional registration options for exhibitors and sponsors.
