SRU ranked one of the country’s best schools for education majors

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Slippery Rock University has been ranked as one of the 50 best schools in the country for education majors by Study.com.

Study.com's list was compiled by evaluating more than 100 accredited colleges and universities using a system that combined current data points from the U.S. Department of Education with program- and school-specific details including:

• Admittance rates.
• Educational support and resources.
• Retention and graduation rates.
• Student-faculty ratio.
• Career resources and job placement.

SRU, ranked No. 13, is one of six institutions from Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education to make the list.

The SRU RockTEACH program was specifically cited by Study.com for its support of minority, low-income and underrepresented students. The RockTEACH program introduces underrepresented students to the field of teaching, promotes college attendance through interaction with current education majors and professors, and provides financial assistance and mentoring support upon enrollment in SRU's College of Education programs.
