Slippery Rock University's Music Department hosted a Jazz Academy, June 24-29, providing "a rich and entertaining jazz experience for a variety of ages and abilities." The annual camp is geared toward those student-musicians who have participated in all-state honors ensembles and those looking to gain knowledge and experience. Attendees enjoyed a schedule that included sessions on big band, jazz combo, improvisation, jazz theory, jazz history, and lessons/master classes on individual instruments taught by SRU music faculty.
