SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — The Princeton Review has named Slippery Rock University to the "Best Northeastern" list published on its "2022 Best College: Region by Region" resource. SRU is among 654 schools, which is just 23% of the nation's fourth-year colleges, recognized across five zones -- Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, West and International -- that editors of The Princeton Review recommend as "regional bests."

"This is a tremendous honor to be recognize among the best colleges by The Princeton Review," said William Behre, SRU president. "Recognition like this is a reminder of the high-quality education that we offer at SRU, as well as the outstanding people that make our University one of the top learning communities in the region."

The Princeton Review ratings are based on scores from 60 to 99 in six categories that come from data sources that include an institutional survey, information from staff visits to schools over the years and the opinions of college counselors and advisers whose perspectives the company solicits.

SRU was one of only 223 colleges and universities listed in the Northeast region, which consists of 11 states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont, as well as the District of Columbia. The schools in each region are listed in alphabetical order by school name, and not ranked.

The Princeton Review is a tutoring, test prep and college admission services company and is not affiliated with Princeton University. The complete listing of the "Best Northeastern" institutions is available on the Princeton Review website.
