Sean Murphy, a 2011 Slippery Rock University graduate with a degree music education, owns a music publishing company whose client composed music that will be played by the U.S. Marine Band at tomorrow’s presidential inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Composer Kimberly Archer, who is represented by Murphy Music Press, LLC, wrote “Fanfare Politeia,” a wind ensemble composition that was selected to be premiered at the inauguration.

Murphy, who is an assistant professor of arts management and entrepreneurship at Baldwin Wallace University, founded Murphy Music Press in 2012 and now represents more than 150 composers, including Archer, a professor of composition at Southern Illinois University.

“Fanfare Politeia” is available for pre-order on the MMP website.
