Boris Brimkov and Jeffrey Musyt, Slippery Rock University assistant professors of mathematics and statistics, were selected as 2020 Project NExT Fellows by the Mathematical Association of America.

Project NExT, which stands for New Experiences in Teaching, is a yearlong professional development program for new or recent doctoral graduates in the mathematical sciences. Project NExT programming includes conferences, workshops, research and service opportunities.

Brimkov and Musyt joined the SRU faculty in fall 2019 after earning their doctoral degrees from Rice University and the University of Oregon, respectively.

The MAA, the world's largest community of teachers, students, professionals and enthusiasts in the fields of mathematical sciences, has sponsored Project NExT since 1994, with more than 1,700 Fellows participating.
