Amber Eade, a Slippery Rock University assistant professor of biology, was named the 2021 COMAT Foundational Biomedical Sciences Item Writer of the Year by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.

Each year, the NBOME selects its top writers and case authors whose work supports its mission to protect the public through osteopathic competency assessment. The COMAT is one of the board’s standardized subject exams designed to assess osteopathic medical students’ knowledge.

The NBOME is a nonprofit organization that supplies competency assessments for osteopathic medical licensure and other health care professions. Eade has been involved with the board since 2013 as an examination contributor and participant in activities such as item writing and blueprint review.
