Three representatives from Slippery Rock University participated in the Dalcroze Society of America's 2018 National Conference, in Carson, California.

Cassandra Eisenreich, instructor of music, led a discussion about implementing the Dalcroze work at all education levels. Two SRU students, Jade Ferneza, a senior dual major in music education and early childhood/special education from Forestville, New York; and Marie Helstrom, a senior dual major in music therapy and music education from Langhorne, were selected as interns.

The DSA conference takes place every other year for colleagues, practitioners, teachers, clinicians, therapists, artists and students of the Dalcroze approach to music education, which is rooted in the physical realization of music and teaches an understanding of music through ground breaking techniques that incorporate rhythmic movement; aural training; and physical, vocal and instrumental improvisation.
