Bailey to be inducted into Chautauqua Sports HOF

Cheryl Bailey, a 1977 Slippery Rock University graduate with a degree in physical education, will be inducted into the Chautauqua (New York) Sports Hall of Fame, Feb. 18.

Bailey has spent four decades in athletics as a coach and administrator, including roles as general manager of the U.S. women's national soccer team from 2007-11 and the executive director of the National Women's Professional Soccer League from 2012-15. She was a coach and athletic director at Denison University in the 1980s before becoming an athletics administrator at the University of Wisconsin and for the NCAA.

Including the Class of 2019, 200 individuals have been recognized in the CSHOF since 1982. The CSHOF honors the outstanding athletic accomplishments and contributions of people who were born in, who lived in or who achieved success in Chautauqua County.
