Bonekovic to receive Young Leader Award from Allegheny County Bar Association

Morgan Bonekovic, a 2012 Slippery Rock University graduate with degrees in criminal justice and criminology and philosophy, was awarded the 2022 Young Leader Award from the Homer S. Brown Division of Allegheny County’s Bar Association.

The division, named after the first African American judge in Pittsburgh, focuses on education, networking and public service programs to assist members of the local African American community and law students. The HSBD Young Leader award commends an active division member under age 40 who exhibits leadership and commitment to the cause.

In addition to Bonekovic’s participation in the HSBD, she serves on ACBA’s Family Law and LGBT Rights committees, ACBA Young Lawyers Division Council, and is a representative of the Young Lawyers Division on the ACBA Judiciary Committee. She is also a committee member of the Pennsylvania Interbranch Commission for Gender, Racial and Ethnic Fairness.

Bonekovic will receive the award at HSBD’s Black History Month Celebration, Feb. 24.
