Nicole Hahna, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of music, was selected as the winner of the 2019 Arts Advocacy Day Scholarship by the Mid-Atlantic Region of the American Music Therapy Association.

The scholarship will fund Hahna's attendance to the National Arts Action Summit, an event hosted by the Americans for the Arts, March 4-5, in Washington, D.C. Attendees will learn the latest research and legislative arts priorities, and on Arts Advocacy Day, March 5, more than 700 advocates will meet with their congressional leaders to underscore the importance of developing strong public policies and appropriating increased public funding for the arts.

Hahna is co-chair of the MAR-AMTA's Pennsylvania State Task Force for Music Therapy.
