Junko Yamamoto, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of secondary education and foundations of education, was selected to serve on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages’ Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce.

This taskforce, established by the ACTFL’s board of directors in 2018, is charged with exploring the various ways in which advancing issues of diversity, equity and inclusion in the language education community is crucial to the long-term sustainability of the profession.

The ACTFL is a national membership association of more than 13,000 language educators and administrators from elementary through graduate education, as well as government and industry.
