Ahmad Khalili, a retired Slippery Rock University associate professor of sociology, was the co-investigator of a research project that was presented at the American Sociological Association’s Annual Meeting. The ASA meeting was conducted virtually last month because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Khalili’s co-investigator, Ali Akbar Mahdi, a lecturer from California State University, Northridge, presented the duo’s research, titled “Social Identity of The Second Generation of Iranian-American in the U.S.” The research was based on a nationwide survey conducted in 2019-20 that looked at the degrees of religious affiliation, attitudes and practices among second generation Iranian-Americans.

Khalili retired from SRU in August.
