Mark O’Connor, a Slippery Rock University professor of languages, literatures, cultures and writing, wrote a chapter in a recently published book from University Press of Mississippi, “Contagious Imagination: The Work and Art of Lynda Barry.”

O’Connor’s chapter, “Interventionist Teaching: (Re)Writing Trauma in the Work of Lynda Barry,” was included in the July 2022 release, which is described as the “long-awaited book-length analysis of the approaches and applications to teaching found in the great comic artist’s work.” The book is part of UPM’s series on critical approaches to comics artists.
