Heather Frederick, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of political science, was recently elected to the executive board of the Northeast Association of Pre-Law Advisors.

NAPLA advocates for prelaw students and institutions in the counseling and admissions process leading to law-related careers. The oldest and largest prelaw advising association in the region, NAPLA has more than 400 members that include undergraduate prelaw advisers from schools in the Northeast and throughout the nation, along with representatives from most American Bar Association-approved law schools in the country.

Frederick, who is the coordinator of SRU's prelaw program, has been a member of NAPLA since 2011.
