Women interested in birth control must first attend an educational session, entitled Options, conducted by the office of Health Promotion.
Want Options? Visit Student Health Services and let us help! Learn how to effectively use, where you can purchase and what birth control option(s) is right for you.
To schedule an individual session contact Renee Bateman, Coordinator of Health Promotion, at 724.738.4206 or via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Individual sessions need to be scheduled in advance. Friend(s), partner(s), and others are welcome to join. All meetings are confidential. Attendance at an Options appointment is required to receive birth control through Student Health Services.
Following Options, students may schedule an individual appointment with a nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner will discuss your choice with you and how to make an appointment for a physical exam and Pap smear, if needed. Appointments are scheduled on designated days and times. Oral contraceptives (the pill), Depo Provera (the shot), or a vaginal ring can be prescribed and then purchased at a pharmacy.
There is a fee for the Pap smear which may be billed or covered by insurance.
