Accounting

Andrea Boggs, '14

The accounting program at SRU is designed to help students excel in the "real world." Small classes allow students to interact one-on-one with Professors, and to form strong relationships with fellow classmates. The program also has a strong Alumni base which personally helped me to secure a job with the Big 4 right out of college.

Finance

Lindsey Fadden, ‘23

Corporate and Institutional Banking Analyst, PNC Financial Services Group

“The finance and economics program at Slippery Rock prepared me for my future career by introducing me to a wide variety of financial tools. I was able to refine my communication and problem-solving abilities through the various case studies and group work I was tasked with completing. I was also provided with many opportunities to network with finance professionals working in the field.”

 John Kitko, ‘23

Operations Analyst, BNY Mellon

“The finance program helped me grow critical thinking and analytical skills. I learned a wide range of financial material that stretched from corporate stock valuations to currency exchange arbitrage. The finance program also forced me to build better research and study skills that I did not have in high school. The program also helped me receive a job offer from BNY. The interview for BNY was mostly behavioral, so the club involvement, group projects, and communication with peers to complete coursework helped me during the interview process.”

 Ashley Burhenn, ‘22

Financial Consultant, Equitable Advisors, LLC

“The finance program helped me gain knowledge about the principals and characteristics of investing and communication skills from working in a team and presenting projects in the classroom.”
