Auditions

At SRU, students will find a warm, welcoming, secure and disciplined environment in which to explore, learn and grow. All incoming first-year and transfer students, or currently enrolled students (seeking to add a minor or second major), must participate in a dance audition.

Face to Face auditions include a combined class of ballet and contemporary dance techniques as well as a tour of campus. View these audition guidelines to see the audition requirements for the BA in Dance, the BFA in Dance, and the Dance Minor.

INCOMING DANCE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

The Slippery Rock University Department of Dance is proud to offer one-time, $1000 Incoming Dance Student Scholarships. All students who audition for the dance major program (BFA or BA) and who are accepted to the University will automatically be placed into the scholarship consideration pool. Preference is given to candidates who audition and receive acceptance to both the University and the dance program in the Fall semester. Consideration continues through the last in-person audition in the Spring semester.
