On-campus housing at Slippery Rock University provides you with a fun, friendly and safe living environment. You know your neighbors, it's easy to get around and you feel comfortable in your surroundings. Whether you're from a big city or a small town, living on SRU’s campus offers a close-knit community that feels like home.
Please check your SRU email regularly regarding your student housing. The MyHousing Portal is used to confirm your room, select meal plans, and find contact information regarding your roommate(s).
INCOMING FRESHMEN (Fall 2021)
Incoming freshmen who have submitted their enrollment deposit to admissions have been receiving communication regarding on-campus housing for Fall 2021. Every Friday, emails are sent to those students who submitted their enrollment fee that week. Once you receive that email with specific housing information, you will be directed to log into your MyHousing Portal. Under the application tab, select New FR Students (Fall 2021) under the Application/Agreement tab. New students (freshmen) are required to reside on campus, if they are not commuting from their permanant home address.
Phase II of the housing process will be communicated in March, and will direct those with contracts on specifics of selecting roommates and on the assigment process.
CURRENT AND TRANSFER STUDENTS (Fall 2021)
For Fall 2021-Spring 2022 on-campus housing, upper class and incoming transfer students who wish to live on campus will be invited via SRU email to sign an "On Campus Placement Request" beginning February 10. By completing this request found in the MyHousing Portal (link found above), students can indicate their desire to reside on campus for Fall 2021-Spring 2022. Housing will then offer students the ability to sign a housing agreement on a rolling basis, as space allows. As an upper-class/transfer student, you are not required to reside on campus, nor guaranteed on-campus housing, though our goal is to offer housing agreements to all who want and need to reside on-campus. For the upcoming academic year, students should expect to have suitemates/roommate, as occupancy of the residence halls is anticipated to increase above the previous academic year.
