Awards and Rankings

SRU is continually recognized with awards, rankings and other accolades from the top national publications, websites and other organizations that evaluate institutions and their academic programs. Below are some of these honors from the last year. Faculty, staff, students and alumni who are recognized with awards have their achievements shared on the News section of our website.

“Best Colleges in the Mid-Atlantic” by Princeton Review
The Princeton Review recognized Slippery Rock University as one of the best colleges in its region for 2025. SRU was one of 97 institutions that appeared on Princeton Review's "Best Mid-Atlantic" list in the 2025 Best Colleges: Region by Region Guide. Only about a quarter of the nation's four-year colleges earn the distinction of "regional best" from the Princeton Review editors, who consider these schools "academically outstanding and well worth consideration in your college search."

“Best Regional Universities” and “Top Public Schools – Regional Universities” by U.S. News and World Report
Slippery Rock University is ranked among the "Best Regional Universities - North" and "Top Public Schools - Regional Universities (North)" on The U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-25 Best Colleges rankings. SRU earned a spot on the publication's Best Regional Universities list for a 16th straight year in 2024-25, while achieving its highest ranking of No. 44.
