About the Hospitality and Tourism Management Program

SRU’s Hospitality and Tourism Management programs prepare students to succeed in a dynamic, people-focused industry through a combination of classroom instruction and practical experience. Students develop skills in event planning, guest services, hospitality operations, leadership, business and personnel management while learning to meet the evolving needs of guests, organizations and communities. Whether pursuing the Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), students can further customize their education through minors or concentrations in areas such as hospitality, communication, safety, leadership, aquatics or a foreign language.

What Can I Do With a Hospitality and Tourism Management Degree?

SRU’s Hospitality and Tourism Management programs prepare graduates for careers in hospitality, tourism, resort recreation, meeting and event management and related industries. Career opportunities include hotel or resort management, guest services, event planning, conference sales and services, tourism management, recreation management and hospitality operations. Graduates may work in hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruise lines, attractions, meeting and conference centers, country clubs, tourism organizations, municipal recreation centers and campgrounds.
