The Bachelor of Music in Music Education prepares students to teach instrumental, vocal, and general music to learners in grades preK–12, while offering the flexibility to pursue either a Voice Track or an Instrumental Track. This structure allows students to develop depth in their primary area while gaining the broad skills needed for success in any preK–12 music teaching position.
Students build a strong foundation through a combination of hands-on teaching experiences and professional-level music training, with a focus on:
- Musicianship
- Vocal and instrumental techniques
- Traditional and non-traditional music ensembles
- Teaching pedagogies centered on inclusivity, culturally responsive practices, and diverse learning needs
Graduates are prepared for Pennsylvania teacher certification and careers in music education, performance, and community music leadership.
