SRU’s criminal justice degree ranked one of the nation’s best

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University's master of arts in criminal justice degree has been ranked as one of the 35 best programs in the country by bestmastersdegrees.com.

According to the website, rankings were compiled using a number of factors including academic reputation and the quality of an institution's graduate program. Additional considerations included faculty salaries, qualifications and citations; student-to-faculty ratios and class sizes; student grades and test scores; and retention and graduation rates.

SRU, at No. 25, was the only institution in Pennsylvania to appear on the list.

SRU's master of arts in criminal justice offers coursework on the three components of the criminal justice system, as well as criminological theory, research and statistical methodologies. The program is designed to serve the educational needs of working criminal justice professionals with a curriculum that offers flexibility for those who desire an advanced degree for workforce enhancement, and quality credentials for students who aspire to earn doctorate degrees in criminology.
