SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - While authentic mirror ball trophies may be in short supply, the energy, enthusiasm and drive to capture the top spot on the card will be palpable when the National Honor Society for Dance Arts presents "Dancing with the Stars - SRU Edition" at 7 p.m., March 29 in the Smith Student Center ballroom.

The event, featuring University staff and faculty paired with SRU dance majors, will serve as a benefit for the National Honor Society for Dance Arts "Rising Sophomore" scholarship fund.

The evening's dance card will include:

-Christine Pease-Hernandez, assistant professor of communication, partnered with Molly Huey, a junior dance major from Warren.
-Dennis Hemphill, custodial work supervisor, partnered with Olivia Nellis, a junior dance major from Glenshaw.
-Pam Miller, human resources employment manager, partnered with Jean Carrio Mendez, a sophomore dance major from Arlington, Texas.
-Brad Wilson, associate provost for transformational experiences, partnered with Shannon O'Reilly, a junior dance major from Hanover.
-Dan Bauer, dean of the College of Liberal Arts, partnered with Cassidy Negri, a senior dance major from Zelienople.

Each duo will perform choreographed routines in order to wow the judges and entertain the crowd, all with the hope of being named SRU's top dancers.

The event will showcase a variety of dance styles and include performances by the Rock Dance Company and Dance Express.

Tickets, priced at $5 for students and $8 for general admission, are on sale at the Smith Student Center Information Desk.
